This past Saturday, the City of Heflin and Heflin Parks & Recreation joined players, cheerleaders, coaches, families and friends in making the first home games a day to remember Coach Brock Roark.
Players, cheerleaders and coaches from all three Heflin PARD teams signed a large “This One’s For You, Coach Brock” banner. After the games, the banner was presented to Brock’s wife, Jaymee, as a lasting reminder of the community standing beside their family.
The tribute stretched well beyond the field. The Painted Kat donated the banner, Caledonia’s Place provided green bows for the cheerleaders, and the City of Heflin Parks & Recreation Department helped make the first home game a meaningful remembrance of Coach Brock.
The stands, the teams and the people who stayed together throughout the day told the bigger story: Brock is remembered, and the Roark family is not standing alone.
